Safe or Not Use Contact Lenses While Swimming

Many people have been wondering whether to wear contact lenses while swimming. It is advised for people to take it off before doing water- sport activities. Long exposure to water will encourage bacterial growth, or pathogens to enter our eyes as the lenses can absorb the water.

If you did not take this seriously, wearing them while swimming can increase the risk of eye issues. For example, eye irritation due to the lenses sticking to the eyes. One of the ways is wearing goggles to keep the water out from entering the eyes. Then, take it off after swimming immediately. Rinse your eyes with clean water and now you can wear a new pair of contact lenses.
